Es wird dargelegt, wie die katholische Kirche Liberias in dieser Zeit des rapiden staatlichen Niedergangs und des am Ende vollständigen Zerfalls jeglicher staatlichen und gesellschaftlichen Ordnung in der „ältesten Republik Schwarzafrikas“ aber auch in dem ersten Jahr der staatlichen und gesellschaftlichen Neuorientierung nach der Abdankung des Despoten Taylor für die Wahrung und Verteidigung grundlegender Menschen- und Bürgerrechte eintrat.   Download: PDF-Datei, 344 KB         23 · Human rights in Liberia: A dream of freedom · The efforts of the Catholic Church for justice and peace     This study examines the Catholic Church’s efforts on behalf of justice and peace in Liberia over the past 25 years, i.e. since the First Republic came to a violent end. It shows how the Catholic Church of Liberia stood up in defence of basic human and civil rights in this period of rapid political decline, which ended in the complete breakdown of any political and social order in “Black Africa’s oldest republic”, as well as in the first year of political and social reorientation following the abdication of the despot, Charles Taylor.   Download: PDF-file, 291 kb         23 · La situation des droits de l’homme au Libéria : un rêve de liberté · L’engagement de l’Église catholique pour la justice et la paix     Cette étude s’intéresse à l’engagement de l’Église catholique pour la justice et la paix au Libéria durant les presque 25 dernières années, c’est-à-dire depuis la fin violente de la première république.
